Children's Minister Katherine Zappone is to meet this morning with frontline agencies trying to help the 2,000 children who are currently homeless.
It is understood representatives from Barnardos, the ISPCC and Focus Ireland will be among the delegation holding talks with Minister Zappone (pictured) at the Department of Children and Youth affairs.
In May of this year, there were 2,177 children without a home.
Minister Katherine Zappone says she wants to find practical ways to help, including looking at transport issues between temporary accommodation and schools, and at how families living in hotel rooms can be equipped to cook meals.
Meanwhile, the Dáil will also debate the recommendations of the special Oireachtas committee set up to investigate the housing crisis.
Fianna Fáil TD John Curran chaired that committee and said he hoped the Housing Minister Simon Coveney would pay attention to tonight's debate.
He said: "For two hours tonight and two hours next Thursday, we'll be debating that report in the Dáil. It's a report from all parties and none.
"We'll be hoping the Minister will be listening and taking note of the recommendations in the report."
