Charity proceeds used to top up Central Remedial Clinic heads' pay

It has emerged that charitable funds raised by Friends and Supporters of the Central Remedial Clinic were used to pay top-ups to managers at the company.

In a statement this afternoon, the CRC said some money from the fund was used to pay executives over and above the Department of Health's pay scales.

However, they said they told the HSE they would phase out the top-ups in 2009.

Independent TD for Dublin South Shane Ross has called for the immediate resignation of the board of directors, as the CRC was using charitable funds at a time when it was cutting services for children and adults with physical disabilities.
