Charity campaigner Christina Noble held at knifepoint in her home

Children's rights activist Christina Noble has been held a knife point in her own home.

She says the man who broke in repeatedly threatened to kill her during the 12-minute ordeal.

Christina says she was able to use her panic alarm when the raider turned away.

"It could've been 12 hours," she said.

"When someone holds a knife up to you… it had a moon shape, on the knife .. [he was] constantly pulling me and holding the knife to me."

The Dublin mother-of-three spent years homeless on the streets of the city before founding the Christina Noble Foundation.

Over the past 23 years Christina is credited with transforming the lives of an estimated 700,000 street children in her adopted Vietnam and Mongolia.

Her life was portrayed in the 2014 'Noble' biopic, starring Deirdre O'Kane.
