Catholic housing agency denies banning double beds for unmarried residents
A housing agency has rejected claims it has stopped elderly residents in a housing scheme from putting double beds in their newly refurbished flats for religious or moral reasons.
Residents at Fr Scully House - a €17m redeveloped complex in Dublin's North inner city - have been complaining that they have been stopped from replacing the single beds they were given with double beds at their own expense.
However, the Catholic Housing Aid Society (CHAS) says the entire story has been blown out of proportion, and that they will be able to accommodate all requests in due course.
