Two raiders remain at large following the robbery of a security van in Co Carlow yesterday.

The raid happened at the entrance to the Aldi supermarket in Bagnelstown at around 3pm.

Two masked men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, threatened a security guard and stole a cash box containing a substantial amount of money.

The cash box and its contents were discovered on the Old Carlow Road (the Dunleckney Road) in Bagnelstown.

The box had exploded, destroying the contents with red dye.
