Calls for volunteers to work in developing countries

Irish groups working in the developing world are appealing to people especially those out of work to consider working for a time as volunteers abroad.
Twenty-four organisations have joined forces and are taking part in a special volunteering fair at the Irish Aid centre in Dublin today.
The groups are to outline the work they do, the skills they require and the opportunities that are available.
The Minister of State for Overseas Aid Peter Power said the current economic downturn has seen increasing interest in volunteering overseas.
