Cabinet approves changed HSE service plan

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has told the Dáil that the HSE service plan for 2014 has been finalised and will be published tomorrow.

The document was shown to Ministers at the weekly Cabinet meeting today.

While the budgetary target was for €666m in savings it is understood some changes have been made.

These include a smaller figure for savings by the removal of medical cards and the Department of Social Protection offering savings through lower-than-expected unemployment.
