Bus, rail and luas prices set to rise from next month

It is reported the National Transport Authority plans to hike up the price of bus, rail and Luas fares from next month.

According to the Irish Independent, some fares will rise by as much as 10%, while others will only increase by between 4% and 6%.

The National Transport Authority is expected to announce the full details later, with price increases on cash single and return tickets expected to come into effect on December 1.

Falling passenger numbers and the CIE's poor financial situation are being blamed for the hikes.
