Bus drivers threaten strike action to protect rural transport services

Bus drivers are accusing the National Transport Authority of being the "HSE on Wheels".

The National Bus and Railworkers Union has announced a new campaign aimed at protecting rural transport services.

The union is warning there is a real danger of swathes of the country being left without services if Bus Éireann moves ahead with plans to alter the terms and conditions of its Expressway Staff.

The NBRU have warned the Bus Éireann drivers will engage in industrial action if the company goes ahead with restructuring plans without agreement from the union.
