Minister Michael Noonan has confirmed a number of changes to the Universal Social Charge.

Budget 2015: Entry point for USC raised to €12,000; new USC rates confirmed for high incomes

Minister Michael Noonan has confirmed the following changes to the Universal Social Charge:

- Increase in the entry point to USC to just above €12,000, removing 80,000 low income workers altogether from the charge;

- Reduction in the 2% rate to 1.5%;

- Reduction in the 4% rate to 3.5%;

- A new 8% rate on income above €70,000;

- A new 11% rate on income above €100,000.
