The Minister for Jobs and Enterprise Richard Bruton has given a positive critique of the performance of the Taoiseach in Government, ahead of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party think-in in Mayo today.
The meeting is set to be dominated by talks on the recent tensions in Government over cutbacks, most notably those in health where Minister James Reilly has come under fire for his u-turn on disability cuts.
However, Mr Bruton has said the Taoiseach Enda Kenny backs up all his ministers and his performance cannot be faulted.
Mr Bruton said: "Enda is not only the public figure that talks about what the Government is doing, he is also a tremendous motivator of the team.
"I think that has always been his strength - he understands people, he backs up his people.
"He is at the heart, driving lots of the changes that are happening across our system and I think he's doing a fantastic job."
