Brinks Allied workers to ballot on strike
11/08/2004 - 07:35:00Workers at the Brinks Allied security firm are due to begin a strike ballot today as part of their dispute over the introduction of new vans and procedures.
The workers are refusing to comply with the changes on the grounds that they could compromise health and safety.
They have also accused Brinks of breaching the Sustaining Progress agreement by refusing to refer the matter to the Labour Court.
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions is seeking the intervention of the National Implementation Body, which was set up to ensure that workers and employers comply with the social partnership deal.
