A 13-year-old boy is appearing in court in London this morning charged with the murder of an Irishman in the city over the weekend.

A 13-year-old boy is appearing in court in London this morning charged with the murder of an Irishman in the city over the weekend.

Christopher John Barry, who was originally from Cork but had lived in London for many years, was stabbed in Edmonton on Sunday night.

The 53-year-old is understood to have been in an altercation with a number of youths as he was trying enter the apartment building where he lived.

He died from a stab wound to the chest.

Police arrested a number of teenagers after the attack.

A 13-year-old was charged with Mr Barry's murder yesterday and is due before Highbury Corner Youth Court today.

Another boy aged 13, and three others who are all 14 years old have already been remanded on bail until January.
