Bogus callers demanding household charge payments


Cork County Council is today warning the public that it has received reports of bogus callers visiting houses around the county who claim they are collecting the household charge.

The Council's advising householders that none of its officials have been deployed to do so on a door-to-door basis and that money should not be handed over to these people under any circumstances.

They are asking anyone who may have been approached by someone attempting to collect the charge at their home to contact the gardaí immediately.
