A body has been found near Howth Pier in Dublin today.

The gender or identity of the person has not been confirmed at this point, but gardaí have confirmed that the search for missing Clontarf woman Catherine O'Reilly has been stood down.

The coast guard and local gardai were involved in the search for the 38-year-old, who was last seen on Thursday.

Her car had been found yesterday afternoon at the pier.

Gardaí have thanked the public for their assistance in this matter.
