A man who served on the board of the Central Bank for 15 years said he never received any training for the role.
David Begg of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions said he was never offered any training for his role - but never asked for it either.
Mr Begg is among former directors of the Central Bank giving evidence at the Banking Inquiry this morning.
Asked by Labour senator Susan O'Keeffe what training he received for his role: he replied: "None."
"I don't think anybody received any training," he said. "I'm not aware of anybody else who did."
