Board faces questions about landlord registrations delay
06/07/2005 - 10:36:39The body set up to protect the rights of tenants is facing questions before the Oireachtas environment committee today about the delay in registering landlords.
All landlords are required to register their properties with the Private Residential Tenancies Board under legislation introduced last year.
Speaking ahead of today's meeting, Fianna Fáil TD Sean Haughey, the chairman of the committee, said it appeared a lack of resources had delayed the process.
He said he wanted the board to outline a timetable today for sorting out these difficulties.
