Binchy wrote recipe for charity book before death
It has emerged that one of author Maeve Binchy's final acts was to write a recipe for an upcoming charity book.
The 72-year-old passed away in July, after a short illness.
Her contribution to a new book to raise funds for the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association arrived by post on the day after she died.
Organiser Katie Hallissey says they were deeply moved by the gesture.
"Maeve Binchy passed away on a Monday evening, and the recipe was received on the Tuesday morning in the post," she said.
"This could well have been her very last charitable act."
