Belfast traffic death leads to arrest
19/05/2012 - 11:41:54A man has been arrested after a pedestrian was killed in a car collision in the North.
The victim, a man believed to be in his 20s, was struck by a silver Subaru Impreza at Cromac Street in south Belfast yesterday at around 7.05pm.
He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for his injuries, but died shortly after 1am today.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.
A PSNI spokesman said: “He is currently helping police with their enquiries.”
Investigating officers appealed to the driver of an old-style blue Vauxhall Astra, who may have witnessed the incident, to contact them.
They also asked anyone else who may have seen the collision or who has any information to contact them at Lisburn Road police station.
