In the North, police are continuing to examine a suspicious object at the centre of a major security alert in South Belfast this morning.

The alarm was raised at about 3pm yesterday afternoon when the device was found at Finaghy Halt railway station.

A number of controlled explosions were carried out yesterday evening and dozens of families are being kept away from their homes.

Irish Rail said passengers for the Enterprise train are being bussed between Belfast and Lisburn.
