Beagle puppy stuck down Cork mine shaft; three siblings rescued

Efforts are expected to resume soon in Cork to rescue a beagle puppy that fell down a mine shaft.

The puppy and three others fell an estimated 80 feet down the shaft of an old bauxite mine in the incident near Glandore yesterday.

Three were later brought out in a bucket attached to a rope by members of the Toe Head Coast Guard climbing crew.

All three were unharmed.

The fourth pup remained underground overnight after it ran further into the mine, too far rescuers to get to.

It is reported the pups fell into the mine shaft during a hunting trip.
