Barry Cowen: Fianna Fáil committed to abolishing Irish Water
Fianna Fáil says it is committed to bringing forward laws that will see Irish Water scrapped, and water charges suspended.
The claim comes as both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael continue their talks with independent TDs, hoping to form a government.
A Fine Gael minister earlier defended water charges, and said the party remained committed to them.
However, Barry Cowen says Fianna Fáil is keen to implement all of the policies from its election manifesto.
He said: "There's no such thing as a red line, whether it's red or blue or a clothes line, it'll be debated in the entirety of our manifesto with a view to implementing what we sought and got support for.
"We are committed to producing legislation that will abolish Irish Water."
