Banking Inquiry 'not watered down' says Kieran O'Donnell
A member of the Banking Inquiry has denied that they had to water down the final report because of legal challenges.
Developers Johnny Ronan and Michael O'Flynn had threatened legal action that could have collapsed the inquiry if changes were not made.
Inquiry members yesterday agreed to make those changes.
However Fine Gael TD Kieran O'Donnell has said this does not mean it is watered down, and that the inquiry has been a worthwhile exercise.
“Public hearings are taking place I think they very much shed a light on the particular players that are involved and people could see them first hand
“And now we are moving towards the publication of the report that I think people will see in the report that there will be two aspects it will shed clarification on areas that people were uncertain on in terms of events and I think it will shed light on new information.”
