An investigation is underway after two men dressed as construction workers held a bank up in Dublin city yesterday afternoon and made off with a large sum of money.

An investigation is underway after two men dressed as construction workers held a bank up in Dublin city yesterday afternoon and made off with a large sum of money.

The Herald is reporting this morning that the raiders made off with more than €20,000 after threatening staff at a branch of Permanent TSB on Baggot Street Upper at approximately 12.40pm

A crowbar and a handgun were used to intimidate staff but no one was injured during the incident.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses as the two men made their escape on foot towards Haddington Road where it is believed they fled in an unidentified vehicle.
