Bank chiefs meet for 'chat' with Government

Representatives of the country's three biggest banks are today appearing before the Government's Economic Management Council (EMC).
Taoiseach Enda Kenny and the Finance Minister Michael Noonan summoned the chief executives for a briefing on their lending levels.
"We’ll have a chat with them and see where they are," said Minister Noonan. "We’ll be listening to them.
"Banks were restructured, you know, at the end of July, the restructuring has gone very well, some of the banks are out there looking for business, and we want them to report to us, and we want to make sure that credit is available to especially small SMEs and on the markets."
AIB's David Hodgkinson, Richie Boucher from Bank of Ireland and Ulster Bank boss James Brown are attending the meeting at Government Buildings.
