Baby taken to hospital after Westmeath fire


A10-month-old baby has been taken to hospital, after a fire broke out at a house in Co Westmeath this evening.

The blaze is believed to have started in an upstairs bedroom at around 4.30pm this evening at a property in Horseleap.

The baby and its mother were taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore for smoke inhalation.

Gardai are investigating - but it's believed they're not treating the incident as suspicious at this stage.
