Baby assault case against Irish nanny adjourned

In the US, the case of an Irish nanny accused of assaulting a baby who later died has been adjourned until next month.

34-year-old Aisling McCarthy-Brady, a native of Lavey in Cavan, is charged with the assault and battery of Rehma Sabir.

Yesterday, a Boston court granted her legal team permission to preserve evidence including a list of people who had access to the one-year-old.

Speaking afterwards, her lawyer said she was "devastated" by the accusation and strongly denies any involvement.
