Traffic is at a standstill in one of the country’s most popular tourist towns after a lorry lost control and hit a shop front.
The incident happened in Dingle, County Kerry at around 1.30pm this afternoon.
No-one was seriously injured in the incident but the driver of the lorry has been taken to Kerry General Hospital.
Gardaí are advising people to avoid the town for the next number of hours unless absolutely necessary.
The vehicle was a waste disposal lorry, and gathered pace as it moved down Green St, apparently out of control.
The driver reportedly beeped the horn in warning to people on the public road, before the vehicle ploughed through a post box and hit the store.
