Average Irish teenage girls 'spending almost €700 on Debs'

The average Irish teenage girl will spend almost €700 on their Debs this year, according to research carried out by department store Debenhams.

The survey claimed that young women are spending on average €695 on beauty treatments, evening dresses and accessories to ensure they look their best.

This cost is equivalent to the amount spent on a post Leaving Cert holiday, and is more than the price of two tickets for Electric Picnic last weekend.
