Authors aiming to inspire young writers
29/07/2008 - 08:26:02Seven best selling authors and a movie star will today try to inspire young students to become talented writers.
Paul Howard will take his character Ross O'Carroll Kelly on a trip to Dublin's northside to visit the Centre for Talented Youth at Dublin City University.
Roddy Doyle, Tom Humphries, Euan O'Halpin, Ruth Gilligan, Julia Kelly and Claire Hennessy will also meet budding authors and talk about their work.
Meanwhile, 'Harry Potter' fans will be able to mingle with film star Evanna Lynch.
Students at the centre, which caters for 6 to 16-year-olds, will be given a unique opportunity to mix with the authors with the hope it might inspire them to become writers.
A special book reading will also take place during the day.
