The Aran Island lifeboat is assisting a fishing vessel which got into difficulty off the Clare coast earlier this afternoon.
The alarm was raised just after 3pm this afternoon by the skipper of the boat who reported that his engine had failed around 35 kilometres west of Spanish Point.
The Aran Islands RNLI lifeboat was sent to assist the vessel and has now taken it under tow back to Rosaveal in Co Galway where it is due around now.
Three people were on board at the time - they are unharmed.
