Almost 100 protestors have gathered in Limerick at an event involving the Finance Minister, Michael Noonan.
The crowd have been chanting anti-water charge slogans outside the Absolute Hotel on Sir Harry's Mall.
The Minister avoided the protesters as he entered the building at approximately 11am.
Gardaí and plain clothes detectives have been drafted in to police the protest, forming a barrier at the hotel entrance.
