Animal rights activists will hold a protest at the annual Puck Fair which begins in County Kerry today.

Animal rights activists will hold a protest at the annual Puck Fair which begins in County Kerry today.

They are calling on organisers of the Killorglin festival to end the inclusion of a live goat as part of the festivities.

Protesters say the goat is left "terrified and confused".

Bernie Wright of the Alliance for Animal Rights has said while the practice isn't as bad as eating animals - it needs to stop.

"It is all part of the lack of respect we have for other species.

"These festivals are realy to show human's superiority, and he is not an it he is a he, and he should be left in peace."
