Andrews welcomes sanction for sex-abuse report's publication

The Children's Minister is welcoming the decision to clear the way for the publication of the report into child sex abuse in the Dublin Archdiocese.

The Children's Minister is welcoming the decision to clear the way for the publication of the report into child sex abuse in the Dublin Archdiocese.

The High Court yesterday ruled the report could be released once 41 references to a priest and his brother were removed as their identification could prejudice criminal proceedings.

The report examines the Catholic Church and State's handling of sexual abuse allegations between 1975 and 2004.

Minister Barry Andrews says the report will be published as soon as possible but no decision has been on the date:
