An Post services returning to normal today as talks planned

Operations at An Post are returning to normal this morning following four days of industrial action that crippled postal services.

The Communications Workers Union yesterday suspended a strike by workers at IO Systems, which operates the sorting services for An Post.

The interim agreement was brokered by the former Impact general secretary Phil Flynn. Under the agreement, IO Systems staff have been reinstated on their original rosters and pay rates.

Talks to resolve the dispute get underway this afternoon.

In the meantime, An Post has confirmed members of the public can recommence posting letters and parcels today, but warned it make some days for the service to return completely to normal as the company sorts through backed-up mail.
