The latest trolley and ward watch survey has shown that more than 370 people are waiting for hospital beds today.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, there are 43 people waiting on a bed at University Hospital Limerick, 25 of them on trolleys and 18 in overflow wards.
There are 37 patients in a similar situation at Cork University Hospital, while University Hospital Galway has 29.
In all, 375 people are on trolleys in Emergency Departments and overflow areas of wards today.
Of those, 267 people are on trolleys while 108 people are in overflow wards.
