Almost 170 jobs at risk in Limerick jewellery company
Limerick company Andersen Ireland is to go into voluntary liquidation - putting almost 170 jobs at risk.
Workers at the Rathkeale plant were given the news this morning.
There are 169 people employed at the facility, which manufactures costume jewellery.
"PL Holdings, its parent company, is based in Austria, and decisions … are made at that level rather than at Rathkeale," said Local TD Dan Neville.
"So I don't know what level of information is with management in Rathkeale, and I presume they're waiting on information from the parent company."
The liquidator will be appointed on September 23, and will assess whether some of the positions can be protected.
