Traffic increased at state airports last month by 6.2%.

While there were rises of 7.2% in Dublin and 10.9% at Shannon in February, there was a drop of 5.3% at Cork Airport.

The Irish Aviation Authority has said new airline services are set to further increase traffic. Dublin airport will be boosted by a number of additional routes to Canada from April.

Ryanair have also announced extra routes from Shannon in the summer.
