AIB customer debit cards charged twice for some transactions, bank confirms

AIB is investigating why a number of customer debit cards were charged twice on Tuesday this week, March 25.

The bank this morning confirmed the issues on its @AskAIB twitter page.

The issue affects customers who used the cards at merchant terminals in retail outlets.

It is not yet known what caused the problem, nor exactly how many people were affected.

AIB’s Head of Technology John O’Dwyer told RTÉ’s Morning Ireland that customers would not be left out of pocket as a result of the issue.
