The delegates from Carlow and Kilkenny have been called to a meeting with senior Garda management following their protest at the association's conference in Westport yesterday.
General Secretary John Redmond said the four gardaí were simply carrying the message of the members they represent:
"The sergeants and inspectors working in the Carlow-Kilkenny division did not have confidence in the Commissioner or the Minister, so the elected representatives were given that message to bring (to the conference)," he said.
"They have to do what their electorate tell them to do. They didn’t make a big fuss about it; they didn’t carry placards (or) shout and roar - they simply left the room."
The AGSI has said it will continue its campaign of opposition against the Croke Park Agreement.
