Aer Lingus shareholders have voted narrowly to go ahead with a €700,000 increase to the pay and pension package of its chief executive Christoph Mueller.

Aer Lingus shareholders have voted narrowly to go ahead with a €700,000 increase to the pay and pension package of its chief executive Christoph Mueller.

The deal was approved by a margin of 50.03% at the airline's AGM at Dublin Airport this afternoon.

The government indicated it would use its 25.1% stake in the airline to vote against the deal for Mueller.
