The threat of strike action at Aer Lingus has been lifted following an agreement hammered out over the weekend between the airline and SIPTU.
SIPTU members had been balloting for strike action after the company threatened to unilaterally impose new work practices today and to sack anyone who failed to co-operate.
The row relates to the major cost cuts being sought by Aer Lingus.
However, the two sides reached agreement last night on how to achieve the savings following a marathon session of non-stop talks that began on Saturday morning.
SIPTU says the deal will mean no pay cuts and no job losses.
