Aer Arann flies heart for transplant after Air Corps plane grounded

A heart destined for transplant was flown from Kerry to Dublin on a commercial flight yesterday, after bad weather grounded the Air Corps flight.

The organ was brought from Tralee General Hospital, via Farranfore, to Dublin on board an Aer Arann flight.

It's understood the heart made it to the Mater Hospital on time for the operation.
