Gerry Adams says he has instructed his lawyers to take "appropriate legal action" against Independent Newspapers.

It is over reports in yesterday's Irish Independent and Belfast Telegraph relating to the PSNI investigation into his brother Liam Adams.

The Sinn Féin president says the allegations are "totally false" and has this morning told his lawyers to take action.
