Adams 'can't afford' to sue over IRA allegations27/09/2012 - 16:51:30
The Sinn Féin President says he can't afford to sue over allegations that he was a commanding officer in the IRA.
In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph newspaper, Delours Price made several allegations about Gerry Adams, including a claim that he was a central figure in the IRA in the early 1970s.
Amid calls for him to make a Dáil statement on the issue, Adams says he has "no case to answer".
And he says he can't afford to try and stop Price from making the claims: "I don't have the money. I get accused of all sorts of things and I've always taken advice. Sinn Féin doesn't have money to use in cases like this."
