94 jobs axed at GlaxoSmithKline, Cork

Ninety-four jobs are to go at the GlaxoSmithKline Financial Services base at Cork Airport Business Park.

The company is moving the financial services roles to the UK this year as part of an overall plan to simplify the business.

Staff were told of the decision last year but were given confirmation of the changes earlier today.

GSK said it would retain a strong presence in Ireland through its other businesses, which are not affected by this announcement.
