7 in 10 schoolchildren get parents' help with homework

Over two-thirds of primary school pupils get help from their parents with their homework every day.

New figures from the CSO show 69% of primary schoolchildren get help from their parents.

But that number falls to just 13% when children move into secondary school.

The study also finds that parents with third-level qualifications are more likely to help their children with their homework than those with lower qualifications.
