Cigarettes, tobacco and a car have been seized by Gardaí in Dublin city centre.
2,300 cigarettes, branded MG and Marlboro Gold, were seized along with 2.9 kilos of Flandria and Samson tobocco in the Meath Street area this morning.
The car was also seized as it was being used to transport the contraband cigarettes and tobacco.
The combined value of the tobacco products is around €5,000 with a potential loss to the Exchequer of almost €3,000.
Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
