Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation have come to an agreement with management to have four extra nurses on duty in the facility's emergency department.

While new beds are to be opened in Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinalsoe and Merlin Park Regional Hospital.

There are reportedly 27 people on trolleys today at University Hospital Galway.
