Thirty passengers on board a pleasure boat have been brought to safety after the vessel got into difficulty off Kinsale Harbour in Co Cork earlier.

Thirty passengers on board a pleasure boat have been brought to safety after the vessel got into difficulty off Kinsale Harbour in Co Cork earlier.

The Courtmacsherry RNLI all-weather lifeboat was called out just after 12.30pm to go to the aid of the 46-foot Spirit of Kinsale pleasure boat which was in difficulty near Charles Fort.

The lifeboat with a crew of seven, and the Kinsale RNLI Inshore Lifeboat reached the scene quickly.

The 30 passengers on board were brought to safety.

The boat, which had lost power, was propped by ropes and towed back to Kinsale, where it is now docked.
